X Corp. develops and provides various analytical solutions for medical and research facilities such as biochemical analyzers. The company decided to develop a new high-performance specimen analyzer with the aim of expanding sales to more contracted testing companies.
In the development process, X Corp. narrowed down its target to contract testing companies and conducted a survey. Mr. E, manager of the company's R&D, shared his story with us.
Many contract testing companies were looking for testing equipment that could further shorten the time required to obtain the results. To improve the inspection speed, we needed to increase the speed of operation while maintaining position accuracy. We also wanted to develop a large number of testing sites in the competitive city center, but since the testing equipment is often located close to people and space is limited there, low noise was also an important factor to consider. However, current motors could not meet these requirements," he said.
The equipment cannot be made any larger so that it can be installed in a small space. In order not to change the size of the equipment, X Corp. needed to find a motor with better performance. Mr. E started gathering information on motors that met these requirements.
Seeking a solution, Mr. E contacted a distributor with whom he had previously worked on another project, he was introduced to SANYO DENKI's motors. Mr. E was very interested in the fact that it has the highest torque performance in the industry and wanted to hear the details right away.
Later, a SANYO DENKI sales representative visited X Corp. and, after hearing his problems, proposed the SANMOTION F2 two-phase stepping motor.
"I heard that the torque performance is about 40% higher that the conventional 56 mm sq. size products of other companies. The expectation was that this would fulfill the requirement for a significant reduction in positioning time without changing the size of the motor. In addition, the noise level was reduced by 4.9 dB(A) and the efficiency was also increased by 2.4%, which I thought would contribute to lower noise and energy saving of the equipment," said Mr. E.
Satisfied with the motor specifications, the development team of X Corp. immediately installed the proposed motor into their prototype for evaluation, and concluded that it could meet their requirements. The company soon decided to use the SANMOTION F2 two-phase stepping motor.
And, successfully released the specimen analyzer. Mr. E. now feels that the feedback from the market has been very positive.
"We have been able to introduce our analyzer to a large number of inspection agencies, which has led to an expansion of sales channels and an increase in sales. Reaction from agencies has also been positive. We have heard that sales have increased significantly due to the ability to provide test results more quickly. Inspectors have also expressed their appreciation for the improved performance, which allowed the entire operation to flow more smoothly, and has also led to a reduction in long working hours. Replacing the motor was the right decision. I am more than grateful for SANYO DENKI," he said with a smile.
