Problem

Cogeneration (CO) is steadily becoming more widespread as a distributed energy system against the backdrop of the growing need for energy conservation in recent years. There are various types of systems that can simultaneously supply electricity and heat, such as gas engine systems, diesel engine systems, and fuel cell systems. Among them, "home cogeneration systems" (ENE-FARM, ECOWILL, etc.) that can generate electricity and supply hot water at the same time by effectively utilizing the exhaust heat during power generation are attracting attention for general households. Since these systems are responsible for a stable energy supply over a long period of time, ensuring durability and reliability is an important issue for each manufacturer.

K Corporation, a manufacturer of housing equipment that focuses on new energy systems, is involved in home cogeneration systems.
Although the company's products have been well received in the market, the company has had trouble with systems it delivered in the past. Mr. E, a senior leader in the engineering department at Company K, looks back on the situation at the time as follows:

"At one point, we had a series of problems with the equipment we had installed suddenly stopping. After investigating, we found that most of the causes were due to fan failure. Since most home cogeneration systems are installed outdoors, a variety of environmental factors such as rain, snow, humidity, direct sunlight, and dust can cause fan failure."

Solution

Approved by a third party! Customize Splash Proof Fan with protection rating "IP68"!

Mr. E, who had been gathering information to solve the problem, visited SANYO DENKI CO., LTD. 's booth at an exhibition and asked about the durability of the fan. After listening to his requirements in detail, the SANYO DENKI CO., LTD. representative suggested a "Splash Proof Fan" to Mr. E.

The first thing that caught Mr. E's attention was the high level of waterproofing. Live parts such as the windings and circuit boards are tightly coated with resin using a proprietary technology, ensuring waterproof and dustproofing with an IP68* rating.

Company K also requested that SANYO DENKI CO., LTD. provide a lifespan of 80,000 hours at an ambient temperature of 45°C, and was told that this condition could also be met.(*) Mr. E said, "I was convinced that there was nothing to be desired in terms of durability and reliability."
*Expected life: 60,000 hours at an ambient temperature of 60°C (indoor environment L10: survival rate 90%, rated voltage, continuous operation, free air condition)

Furthermore, the wide range of sizes and specifications available, as well as the extensive functionality of PWM control function, which allows for easy adjustment of airflow, all contributed to Mr. E's decision to adopt the product.

10,000 New Model Home Cogeneration System Shipped, Achieving “Zero Defects”!

After conducting actual testing, Company K decided to adopt SANYO DENKI CO., LTD. 's "Splash Proof Fan."
