Which Fans are Best for Refrigeration and Freezing Equipment?

In refrigeration and freezing equipment, maintaining a stable low-temperature environment is essential for preserving the quality of items such as food and pharmaceuticals.
Cooling fans, which handle heat dissipation and air circulation inside the chamber, are required to have high reliability and strong environmental durability.

This article explains the specific usage scenarios in stores, the key characteristics required for cooling fans in refrigeration and freezing equipment, and the types of fans commonly used in these applications.

1. Fans Used in Refrigeration and Freezing Equipment for Stores

In this section, we’ll look at the locations where fans are installed within refrigeration and freezing systems used in stores.

2. Key Characteristics of Fans Required for Refrigeration and Freezing Equipment

Low Noise Performance

Refrigerated showcases and wine cellars used in stores are often placed in environments where people are nearby, so fan noise can become an issue.
Selecting low-noise fans contributes to creating a comfortable environment.

Waterproof Performance

Fans in refrigeration and freezing systems frequently come into contact with moisture caused by condensation or frost melting.
Using Splash Proof Fans designed for wet environments ensures reliable operation and helps minimize the risk of malfunction.

Operates on AC Input

In refrigeration and cooling equipment, fans that operate on AC input are often required. However, there is still strong demand for taking advantage of the benefits offered by DC Cooling Fans, such as low power consumption and long service life.

DC Cooling Fans offer lower power consumption compared to AC Cooling Fans, contributing to improved system-level energy efficiency. Their longer service life also helps reduce maintenance requirements. ACDC Fans incorporate a compact and integrated AC to DC conversion circuit and operate with a DC motor, which allows them to provide the same core benefits as DC Cooling Fans, such as low power consumption and extended operational life.

Splash Proof Centrifugal Fan

This Centrifugal Fan provides superior dust and water resistance.

High Airflow and High Static Pressure

Delivers air in the radial direction and provides excellent performance in both airflow and static pressure.

Dust and Water Resistance

It achieves dust and water resistance compliant with the IP68, IP56, and IP54 protection ratings.

Splash Proof ACDC Fan

This is a waterproof ACDC fan, ideal for environments where water or dust is present and AC power is used.

Achieving the Superior Benefits of DC Fans with AC Power

The fan converts AC power to DC internally for operation, allowing it to deliver the superior characteristics of DC Cooling Fans, including low power consumption and an extended service life.

Dust and Water Resistance

It achieves dust and water resistance compliant with the IP68 and IP56 protection ratings.

The IP (Ingress Protection) rating of our Splash Proof Fan series is based on IEC 60529 and applies only to live electrical components, such as motor coils and electronic parts. Mechanical components such as impellers and bearings are not included in this rating, so under certain conditions, like condensation or water exposure, these parts may be impacted.
When using the product for extended periods in environments exposed to dust, water, or condensation, implement appropriate countermeasures and evaluate based on specific usage conditions.
